My practice is bound by a single, quiet thread: an inquiry into time, rhythm, and the subtle internal movements that connect the physical body to the materials we touch. Whether working with stone, wood, watercolor, or the fluid trace of ink on paper, my work is a study of presence and duration.

I have always been drawn to ancient, craft-based traditions and the profound lineage of the teacher-student relationship. These disciplines—from Shodō (Japanese calligraphy) to restorative yoga—demand a refinement of skill that requires absolute focus, breath, and alignment. They are not merely techniques, but ways of being, where the external gesture becomes a mirror for the internal landscape.

When I paint the outdoor landscape, I encounter the infinite expanse of nature—a reminder of something vast and majestic that I am deeply connected to, and a part of. Yet, this encounter with the external world ultimately forces my gaze inward. It becomes an inquiry into my own instruments of perception: how I process thoughts, how I truly see, and how I choose to translate those visions onto the page. Over time, I have realized that all the skills and disciplines I have acquired are no longer just external techniques; they are fully absorbed within me. They are present in every brushstroke, flowing naturally as I map both the world outside and the world within.

Now, as an immigrant finding my footing in a new landscape, my art remains a sanctuary. It is a space of contemplation, where I look out at nature and humanity to trace the quiet, universal threads that connect us all.
